Can someone explain battlefield 3 multiplayer?

I've played loads of cod and dont understand how battlefield works I don't seem to have a choice in guns either some ak or m4. Am I able to add attachments to guns like a red dot sight. Can i create a class.Can someone explain battlefield 3 multiplayer?
4 classes, no custom class.



Each class unlocks new weapons by reaching score thresholds. These unlocked weapons can be used on both the US and RU side (in the end you'll unlock the starter weapons for the opposite side too). Until you unlock weapons you are stuck with the starter weapons.



The total score ranks you up which gives you weapons (sidearm and primary), passive abilities (additional ammo, etc.), dog tags and new camouflage clothing.

you have 4 main Kits think of these as classes. Each kit has a certain skill and weapons. the assault class has the m4 and Ak as starting weapons. To use your specialties such as your med pack hit the d pad to drop a med kit. you earn point according to a number of things such as kills assists captures/plants heals, repairs, suppression, spawning, ect.

play the objective its more important than kills in battlefield and use the squad spawning system to spawn on your squad mates or position yourself for them to safely spawn near you you get points for this as well

Gun attachments are unlocked with use of the and guns and tools are unlocked with use of the class vehicle upgrades are also unlocked by using the vehicle, you will also rank up and earn other rewards with all your points as a whole

It may fell frustrating at frist but stick with it play as assault to heal yourself and eventually unlock the defibrillator which will earn you many points or just find a class that works for you and stick with it to get better unlocksCan someone explain battlefield 3 multiplayer?
You have 4 classes : assault:heal teammates with ur medkit and with your first unlock the defibrillator u can revive people as u rank up a class u can unlock better weapons

Support: u have a huge machine-gun and u can lay down ammo packs to keep ur ammunition and ur teams ammunition up

Recon:snipe at long distances and support ur team from afar

I can't remember the last class but I hope this helped and also use co-op to get good guns early
