Do you need an Online Pass to play multiplayer on Battlefield 3?

I am planning to buy Battlefield 3. However, I saw a statement by Electronic Arts that said, "You can also purchase an online pass for a used copy." Then it says that an Online Pass is required to multiplayer. Does this mean that if I buy Battlefield 3 brand-new from a store that it doesn't include multiplayer and I have to buy it separately? All new games come with a free code you enter to obtain your pass when you buy it. You only need to buy a pass if you buy a used game and the code either has been used by the original owner or the code isn't in the case. If you buy new though you will get a code for free.
unfortunately this is true for used copies but i dont know about new copies. it is only $8.99 on PSN. if you had preordered it you would have gotten it for free with bonus packs that will come out later. you will only have to buy it once if you even have to buy itDo you need an Online Pass to play multiplayer on Battlefield 3?
If you buy the game new a card will show a code to get the free online pass. But I'm not sure about the used one. Or you can just buy a online pass for 10 dollars. But buying the game new is better

No, new copies of the game should have the online code. You only need to buy a separate code if you buy a used copy.
