Any tips for Battlefield 3 multiplayer?

havent been playing long and i pretty much suck lol just looking for some pointers that will make it a little easier to remain alive more than 30 seconds after spawningAny tips for Battlefield 3 multiplayer?
Shooters are sucky sometimes... Situations like this are exactly why I prefer TBS and TBT and even RTS/T games.

In any case, the thing I tend to suggest (other than Manitou's smartbackside response...and, yes, I use that one too...) is to play the campaign game at a level you're comfortable playing, and play it through several times until you can play it while minimizing the deaths. Once you've done that, play at the next higher level, until you can play on the highest level successfully.

With BF3, once you've unlocked the Co-Op mode, play that. The Survival modes are a pain on the hardened levels (I have yet to try the Insane...).

Generally, the harder levels available are closer to what you'll face online against live opponents, because there *are* people out there that are either just that damned good, or simply have no life, and have been on the game for 10+ hours a day since it came out.

Additionally, try finding servers where friends are playing, and add them to your BF friends list.

Outside that, as another poster stated... BF is NOT CoD. While some of the same tactics can and do work (the example of run %26amp; gun *is* a valid and successful tactic, you just need fast fingers and the right combination of timing, weapons, and perk(s) to add to it), you have to change you point of thought. The BF series is a SQUAD game. You have to co-ordinate with others for the most success.

Best example I can think of is a BF2142 game a friend played.

He entered the server with the other team dominating the game, and, after making a squad among some of the players (most being average players), took the flags (missile launchers), knocked down the shields on the Titan (consider it a floating mothership), and then took out the 4 consoles that kept the reactor door sealed, and blew the reactor within 6 minutes of arriving on the server.

Why was he able to do this? He and the other four players were operating in a co-ordinated manner while EVERYONE on both sides was playing it lone wolf.

Last thing I can think of, is shoot straight, and keep you head on a swivel. In short...keep your eyes open, and keep looking around.
FIRST OF ALL!

You should know that it`s not Call Of Duty! What I mean by that is that, it`s not a fast phase game! Don't expect to run-run-run, and when you see an enemy, you can kill it easily just like COD. You should think carefully before advancing, always look at your perimeter, use some covers! And most of all! STAY CLOSELY TO YOUR TEAMMATES OR SQUAD! Since your a beginner, just play and play until you get a hold of the game...Any tips for Battlefield 3 multiplayer?
Hmmm... All about strategy right? Well I would have to disagree and say go for hardcore. Easier to get sniper kills and in Battlefield 3 that is all anybody does hate to say.
Make sure your playing normal mode and not hardcore.Any tips for Battlefield 3 multiplayer?
The best tip is the most simple one:

Don't get shot.
