Hii Soldier,

We really regret that you had had to go through such experiences with Battlefield. I have listed out certain points below, please check with them:

1. For playing battlefield 3 you need to install the latest ATI Catalyst/ Nvidia Geforce Driver specially made for Battlefield 3. you can download them here :

AMD Catalyst for Radeon : http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pag鈥?/a>

Nvidia 64 Bit Win 7/Vista : http://in.download.nvidia.com/Windows/28鈥?/a>

Nvidia 32 Bit Win 7/Vista :http://in.download.nvidia.com/Windows/28鈥?/a>

2. You need to have the latest Origin Client installed, which is optimized for Battlefield 3. you can download it here:

http://www.origin.com/ie/about

3. When you try to install it with the disk it installs the Origin version which is not the latest, kindly install the latest one, start origin and install battlefield 3.

4. Battlefield 3 recieved a day one patch which is not available with the disk version so you need to update it, in case your pc doesn't update automatically you need to follow certain steps:

-close origin client
-go to "c:/program data/origin/download cache/" and delete everything (for win 7/vista users)
-go to your game directory and copy the "battlefield 3" folder (for backup) start origin

5. Update DirectX from microsoft download center

if all goes well. Battlefield should run smooth now...

after everything (not applicable to your particular problem)

For players that are having problems with not being able to connect, you probably want to take a look at this post.
To Manually update your local PunkBuster Security Files, choose "Save As" from your Web Browser's "File" Menu and explore to find your game folder and the subfolder called "pb".

Save this file in that location (/pb/pbsec.htm or /pb/pbsecsv.htm). The next time you start your game, your PunkBuster will have the latest security information necessary to accept auto-updates from PB Servers.
